Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you want to know about working with a local marketing strategist — answered honestly and without the agency spin.

About My Services

What services do you offer?
I offer three core service packages designed to help small businesses improve their online visibility — from a DIY local SEO roadmap to a fully done-for-you digital transformation and ongoing monthly management. Visit the Services & Pricing page to explore each package in detail.

What is the difference between a "Roadmap" and a "Facelift"?
The Local Strategy & Roadmap ($350) is 100% DIY. We analyze your online footprint and send you a comprehensive PDF guide containing your customized local keywords, website copy recommendations, and a 30-day checklist. You handle all the actual editing and posting yourself.

The Local Digital Facelift ($650) is 100% Done-For-You. We don't give you a chore list; we take over the labor. We completely build out and optimize your Google profile, rewrite your website headline copy, and create 12 custom social media posts so you can launch with absolute confidence.

Why do I need to complete a Digital Facelift before signing up for monthly management?
Driving fresh traffic to a broken digital foundation is a waste of your hard-earned marketing budget. If your website messaging confuses visitors or your Google Maps listing is unoptimized, potential customers will leave before they ever contact you. The Digital Facelift fixes your "digital front door" first, ensuring that your monthly investment yields the highest possible return.

Who do you typically work with?
I work primarily with small business owners in the Upper Valley and Sugar River Region who want to grow their local presence online without the overwhelm of a large agency.

Do you work with businesses outside of New Hampshire?
Yes! While my focus is on hyper-local marketing in small-town and rural markets, the strategies I use translate well to similar communities anywhere. If you're not local but feel like we'd be a good fit, I'd love to connect on a Discovery Call.

What makes you different from a large marketing agency?
You work directly with me — not a junior account manager. I specialize in small-town and community-driven businesses, which means I understand the relationship dynamics, word-of-mouth culture, and local trust signals that big agencies often overlook.

I run a very small local business. Which package is right for me?
Great question — it really comes down to your time and budget:

  • If you have more time than budget, grab The Local Strategy & Roadmap ($350). It gives you an expert plan to follow on your own time.
  • If you are short on time and want an immediate professional upgrade, start with The Local Digital Facelift ($650).
  • If you want to completely hand off your marketing so you can focus entirely on your day-to-day operations, apply for our Ongoing Monthly Retainers.

Getting Started

How do I get started?
The best first step is booking a free Discovery Call. We'll talk through where your business is now, what's holding you back, and whether we're a good fit to work together.

What does a Discovery Call look like?
It's a relaxed, no-pressure 20–30 minute conversation. I'll ask about your business goals, current online presence, and what you've tried before. You'll leave with at least one clear next step, regardless of whether we work together.

Do I need to have a big budget to work with you?
Not necessarily. My packages are designed to deliver real ROI for small businesses, not just large ones. During our Discovery Call, I'll be upfront about whether the investment makes sense for where you are right now.

What information should I have ready before the Discovery Call?
It helps to have a general sense of your monthly revenue, your biggest marketing frustration, and what you've already tried. But don't stress — we'll figure it out together.

Results & Expectations

How long does it take to see results?
It depends on your starting point and the package you choose, but most clients begin seeing measurable improvements in local search visibility within 60–90 days of consistent work.

Can you guarantee results?
No ethical marketer can guarantee specific rankings or revenue numbers — and you should be cautious of anyone who does. What I can guarantee is a clear strategy, transparent reporting, and honest communication throughout our work together.

How will I know if it's working?
We'll establish baseline metrics at the start and track progress together. Depending on your package, this includes Google Business Profile insights, local search rankings, website traffic, and lead volume.

What if I've already tried marketing and it didn't work?
That's actually one of the most common situations I work with. Before we do anything new, I'll audit what's been done and figure out why it didn't land — so we're not repeating the same mistakes.

Practical Questions

How do we communicate during a project?
Primarily via email, with scheduled check-in calls depending on your package. I keep things streamlined so you're not drowning in Slack messages or endless meetings.

Are there any long-term contracts for the monthly tiers?
Our entry-level Local Authority Retainer ($850/mo) is completely month-to-month with no long-term contracts; we only require a 30-day written notice to cancel.

Our advanced tiers (Market Leader and Market Dominator) carry a 3-month and 6-month minimum commitment, respectively. This is because advanced SEO optimizations, competitor outranking, and funnel building require sustained data and tracking to show true compounding returns.

Do your monthly packages include responding to my social media DMs and comments?
No. Because you know your daily inventory, pricing, and booking calendar best, your team retains direct control over your social media inboxes and comment sections. This ensures your customers always receive rapid, highly accurate answers from the people who run the business. We focus our energy on driving new traffic to your profiles; you focus on closing the leads.

Will you respond to our Google Reviews?
Yes! Unlike social media messages, Google reviews do not require instant replies and heavily impact your local search rankings. We monitor your Google Business Profile weekly and write professional, keyword-rich replies to your 4 and 5-star reviews to boost your local SEO. If a negative or complicated review drops, we will flag it and send you a recommended response draft for your approval.

What do you need from me to get started?
Access to your Google Business Profile, website, and any existing analytics accounts. Beyond that, about 1–2 hours per month of your time for reviews and approvals.

Do you offer refunds?
Because my work is strategy and time-based, I don't offer refunds once work has begun. That's why the Discovery Call matters — it's how we both make sure it's the right fit before committing.
